Marseille Mediterranean Archaeology Museum has extensive collections of ancient works.

The Museum is best known for the exceptional richness of its Egyptian collection, which offers a broad panorama of the beginnings of the old Kingdom to the Coptic era.

This Egyptian collection consists largely of the Clot-Bey collection, private doctor, friend and Ambassador of the viceroy ofEgypt, Méhémet Ali.
