Curious, open and fearless... The Gallery David hero Contemporary Art, a place in the image of its founder.

Born in Paris in 1968, it is in the Phocean city that he will grow up. Between a father of Polish origin professional of fashion as well as a mother - ex-modele and high figure of Marseille ready-to-wear-, David Pluskwa develops early trade skills - father's legacy - as well as a look. This look, this eye, this sense of aesthetics bequeathed to him by his mother will be a fundamental know-how in his career.

At the age of 17 years, David embarks on the event. Organizations parties, fashion shows and performances will give rhythm to his life in the very turbulent Marseille, until the age of 23. The boy has not yet a quarter of a century in sneakers so that one very close advises him to move towards the market of art. Between business, importance of human relations and artistic dimension, the job seems tailor-made for the young gallerist in the making.

Pure self-taught, is formed. Intensive reading, visiting museums and constant presence in the auction houses or art openings... David Pluskwa little by little one weaves a network of buyers and collectors. He won the confidence of the family Dumon (Foundation looks of Provence), which he signed an important part of the collection. Support of size which gradually lead him to acquire a place of exhibition: David hero, located at 304 Gallery Street paradise. Rigor, fidelity so that the quality of the works proposed provide a clientele spread to the four corners of the planet.

Consequence of a very strong demand of the kind, the young Marseille merchant specializes in painting Provence and orientalist paintings from the 19 and 20th centuries. David will be a dealers first, french in appropriating the Internet through the creation of an online portal, there are more than a dozen years now.

Taken of passion for the light and the compositions of the works of Félix Ziem, David Pluskwa meets then Anne Burdin-Hellebranth, an expert on the artist at the time, who sees in David succession, and he passes the baton as the cultural heritage, the Council and the expertise of the paintings by the artist.

David Pluskwa remains to this day, alongside his friend Mathias Ary Jan, the most eminent specialist Ziem.

The expert, gallery owner and collector quickly succumbs to the temptation of modern and contemporary. Jonone, Combas, Erro or Pasqua... It is a signed important background of the main artists of various movements: Figuration Narrative, Figuration Libre or Streetart... He accumulated new knowledge and continue the meetings, engine of his activity and his passion. September 2012 is an additional turn as David Pluskwa opens the doors to a new place dedicated to contemporary Art, located in the heart of downtown Marseille, street Grignan. Collector, dealer, gallery owner, he now accompanies the young creation, by actively supporting emerging talent as ROD or Toma-L.

The Gallery is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 14:30 to 18:00 and by appointment.
