On the Place of Estienne of Orves, two not the old Port, appointment in an old building, once recovered from the arsenal of the galleys of Louis XIV and discover "The sport" !
Pass the porch, and surprised by this place today full of charm: cobblestone, old stones, grids, beams and high ceilings, gangways, serve the beautiful Jeanne Laffitte, the restaurant-Lounge-Library Library tea of the sport and her shop.

The Restaurant of the sport

Since 1980, Jeanne and Simone Laffitte ceased to refine this large area dedicated to the goods from the port of trade after having housed the Brigantine of galleys of the Arsenal. The meeting of a library and a cellar was the crazy dream of Jeanne, who realized through his sister Simone. Ancient and modern books and bottles found their place on the shelves around a restaurant unusual.

The head of the kitchens, Eric Cornilleau, while respecting the perfumes and flavours of the Midi, composed cuisine of seasons as Gourmediterrannee peers, with the wonders of the sea nearby and those of our orchards. Here are some specialties of the House, to make you mouth water: great little stuffed Provencal, a skillet of cuttlefish to Sète, purple stuffed artichokes, fish bouillabaisse, foie gras home base, feet packages Marseille or the fillet of beef Rossini... you guessed it, a gourmet kitchen, which varies according to the seasons and the fisheries.

Simone initiated by Jean Lenoir ("The nose of the wine"), composed a beautiful card of the wines of 250 references offering selections "favourites" with a variety of colors, tastes and intensity. The main wine-growing French and foreign regions are represented with prices ranging from € 18 to € 200 and more.

Note that between 14: 00 and 20: 00, the restaurant becomes a tea room - very nice library where you can taste one of the treats of the MARIAGE FRÈRES teas, and continue to nibble a few delicious dishes prepared to fill "a little offbeat hungry".
