O n used to say that we were going to Chez rose *, even if the restaurant bears the name of his brother, "Chez Vincent".

* Rose left us in January 2016. And if one wishes to say a little word here about it, it is because it was a beautiful person. The emblematic Cook of Sicilian origin was the Dean of the Marseille restaurateurs.

Chez Vincent is one of the restaurants that receives the whole city: politicians, economists, artists... Jean-Claude Gaudin himself has his habits, especially to eat "the famous rose pesto soup".

Located close to the Opera, you have to know, otherwise you would not have the idea to enter it. Well, you would spend next to a small Marseille institution, this kind of small traditional Inn or simple Italian trattoria, but or you feel that the table is good!

A mixture of provenal and Italian cuisine, simple, family and authentic. It comes for starters (peppers marinated with anchovies, Eggplant fries, salad of poultry livers,...), for pizzas in wood fire, for specialties (of course the pesto soup of rose, but also the feet-packages House * *, the liver of veal Rosé to X , Osso Buco, grilled fish depending on the day's fishing, calamari, pasta,...), and homemade desserts (the caramel flan baked in a wood fire that tastes like a family dessert, a cream with lots of eggs and caramel , ...).

* * It is said that each Marseillaise family has its own recipe of feet and packages, but those of rose, you will not forget them!

The first room that overlooks the kitchen and the pizza oven is empty, probably made it too hot, we see that the oven and its Green and orange earthenware have always been there. You will be taken to the tables in a discreet room, and you will see the appetizers and homemade desserts, prepared for you the same morning.

Enjoy this quiet moment and taste all these good things with consideration.

Note : there are two "Chez Vincent" in Marseille, this one is the traditional restaurant Marseille also called Chez rose. Not to be confused with the pizzeria restaurant of the Avenue des Chartreux, close to the dome, and known artists and sportsmen who end late because it is open all night..
