Catalans Beach * is the closest to the old Port, and close to the Palace of the Pharo.
It is the first track on the Corniche Kennedy. We have the impression of being in the city center, and yet! This sandy beach with a beautiful view of the distant islands of Frioul, is very nice and very crowded.
If you do not like the crowd, go for a swim early early in the day. Because the square centimeter of sand becomes expensive, past a certain time, and a lot less clean water! And do not expect peace, because children, teenagers are as numerous as loud, but after all - isn't life? entertainment guaranteed!
The entry sea slope is very soft, and there feet far enough. Swimming is supervised, and you have showers and toilets.
All this account when you come with your family.
Possibility to rent mattresses.
Otherwise, the Catalans beach is also famous for its Beach Volleyball fields that attract players and spectators throughout the year.
Open from 8:30 to 20: 00 from April to October, and from 8:30 to 18: 00 from November to March.
* The Catalans, this is part of the Marseille waterfront, which saw the arrival of a group of Catalan fishermen who settled there in the 17th century and the name remained in a disused infirmary. Over time, the name has remained since that time.
